Course Overview:

To have basic knowledge of: depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis and substance use disorder.
To address the possible crisis arising from these mental health problems and proceed with necessary intervention.
To provide suitable help for person involved before the situation gets worse.
To learn about community resources and help the person involved to seek for professional treatment and make use of suitable resources.

1 March 2014 (Saturday), 10:00am – 6:00pm

8 March 2014 (Saturday), 10:00am – 4:00pm

Venue: HKU (Room number to be confirmed)

Medium of Instruction and Course Materials: Cantonese and Chinese

Instructors: Angela (Honorary Advisor of Alumni Association (AA)); Vava (Vice Chairperson, AA)

Course Fee: AA Members: $250 (Bank deposit: Hang Seng Bank 234-157089-001) Non AA Members: $450

Those who complete the course will be issued “Mental Health First Aid Standard Course Certificate”. This is the certificate in Hong Kong acknowledged by ORYGEN Research Center of the Department of Psychiatry at University of Melbourne. For details, please visit http://www.mhfa.com.au/ and http://www.mhfa.org.hk. Open to AA members and graduates of the HKU Master of Social Sciences (Counselling) program. Registration on a first come first served basis, with priority given to AA members. Successful applicants will receive an email confirmation.
