Symposium on Counselling

Co-organized by The Master of Social Sciences in Counselling Programme, Department of Social Work and Social Administration, H.K.U. and The H.K.U. Master of Social Sciences (Counselling) Alumni Association, a one-day event “2010 Symposium on Counselling: Counselling clients with complex needs” was successfully held on 10th December 2010 at the Graduate House, H.K.U.

Attended by an audience of over 120, this one-day Symposium provided a platform for participants to learn, to share, and to reflect on objectives and strategies for promoting good counselling practice, heightening personal awareness, and gaining a better understanding of how counselling can be applied to address clients’ needs in different contexts. Further, as some speakers are alumni members, they have been given a valuable opportunity to share with the audience on what they have learnt from the H.K.U. Counselling Programme, and how they can apply what they have learnt in their work setting and in life, thereby becoming an effective practitioner in the human services.
